The steering wheel in the Passat is strangely off center.

yeah, I hate it. I sat in one and it got an immediate “nope!” from me. Also, this looks like the kinda picture that could wait until you weren’t doing 70.

A LOT of cars do this. I think it has to do with packaging, but it could also be an ease-of-entry thing. At any rate, once you see it, you can’t un-see it.

I guess Ferdinand Piech had a reason for it...

M sister’s Mustang (‘06) is slightly to the right. It bothers me.

My Mustang and C2500 (both ’95s) are offset to the right. I wonder how many of my previous cars have had it too.

In my girlfriend’s 2001 Jetta, the clicking for the turn signal comes from the center of the dashboard. Bothers the shit out of me.

The hazard light switch doubles as the flasher relay on MK 4s.

GM has a long history of that, particularly when the bolted the new Camaro front subframe onto the old Nova platform, and the two pieces didn’t quite fit. Guess it goes with the territory of being the world’s top automaker. Or, is VW #2 now? It keeps fluctuating.

Well it’s good to know there is at least a technical reason for it.

The Willys is like this. An old picture, but the wheel is definitely in front of your right-side chest.
